Elie Tahari Spring 2012 Collection at New York Fashion Week

This show was glamorous and so chic, there isn’t a look I wouldn’t wear from this impressive runway collection. Inspired by the rich past of ancient Egypt and the elongated, hour-glass silhouettes of the early 1900’s, the Spring 2012 collection mixed and layered textures to create new shapes and proportions. Special details included hand braided leather trims and antique jeweled embroidery. Colors seamlessly flocked down the runway ranging from an array of neutrals to sun-faded yellow, burnt orange and cloudy blue accented with vibrant shades of teal and deep touches of gold. The cold-washed silks created the illusion of uneven texture reminiscent of Egyptian clay tablets. Joe Zee who styled the show finished off each look with filigree sandals in gold and python, oversized clutches and metallic mesh pouchettes.Congratulations to Elie Tahari who wowed fans with a stunning collection!
